Houston Welcomes the Auburn Class of 2030
The Greater Houston Auburn Club was honored to participate in this year’s Freshman Send Off, welcoming Houston-area students and their families as they prepare to begin their journey this fall on the Loviest Village on the Plains.
While this event is not hosted by the Greater Houston Auburn Club, we are incredibly grateful to be invited each year to help welcome the next generation of Auburn students into the Auburn Family.
What began more than two decades ago as a small gathering in Debby Leighton’s home has grown into one of the best Auburn Freshman Send Offs. This year Houston is sending 148 student to Auburn and over 200 attendees. Thanks to Debby, an incredible team of volunteer hosts and generous underwriters, Houston families continue to experience a first-class welcome before their students ever step foot on campus.
This year’s program featured Auburn University leadership, alumni volunteers, young alumni, and university representatives who shared advice, answered questions, and reminded students that becoming part of the Auburn Family begins long before move-in day.
A special thank you to Debby Leighton, whose vision started this tradition, to every host and underwriter who continues to make it possible, and to the Houston Racquet Club for providing such a beautiful home for this special event.
To the Class of 2030…
Congratulations! We can’t wait to watch your Auburn story begin.
